Investigates and resolves software and hardware problems, builds and maintains computer systems, by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned).
- Assists in the maintenance of cPanel's internal network of servers and desktop servers:
- Builds and installs basic network infrastructure components.
- Builds and configures desktop systems.
- Administration of users on company systems.
- Runs cabling.
- Provides knowledge and assistance to other departments:
- Troubleshoots desktop software issues
- Troubleshoots and repairs hardware and peripheral issues
- Inventories current and new company items.
- Adheres to coding and development standards and practices provided by cPanel.
- Ad hoc reporting to company executives.
Competency
- Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
- Very detail oriented.
- Working knowledge of desktop/server operating systems and their underlying components: Linux/*nix, BSD, and Microsoft Windows OSes.
- Advanced knowledge of desktop and server hardware: RAID, SATA, and SCSI.
- Experience with low voltage wiring (cat5e+)
- Working knowledge of basic electrical principles.
